High-performance computing (HPC) is one of the great challenges and opportunities in the electronics market today. With SoCs as the backbone of modern HPC systems, it is a key enabling technology for next-generation servers, data centers, and storage systems. There is a growing need for greater performance, lower latency, and greater innovation while reducing design time, cost as well as development risk. The difficulties to more efficiently design, develop, build, test, and deliver an integrated SoC grows exponentially as demands and complexities increase. As a response to this challenge, we will present an end-to-end SoC development flow that will allow designers to accelerate their SoC development by leveraging work that has already been done. This covers upcoming interconnect standards such as CCIX and GenZ, and key updates to existing standards such as PCI Express and CCIX, optimized for the data center. We review the advantages of using integrated and fully-verified design IP to reduce the cost and time to market for developing the next-generation data center hardware solutions.
